Founded in September 2020, the Stamford Spartans program was created to shape young athletes through sportsmanship, teamwork, and the highest physical and moral standards.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to challenge every athlete to make the daily choice to work hard, improve, and grow - not only in football and cheerleading, but in life.
Led by dedicated volunteer coaches, we focus on:

Riko’s Day at Stamford High School! 9/28
The Stamford Spartans are thrilled to announce Riko’s Day at Stamford High School on September 28, 2025!
Thanks to the incredible support of Riko’s Pizza, all fees for six games—including officials, medical staff, and facilities—will be fully covered, allowing our athletes to play without financial burden.
Riko’s will also be serving pizza slices at a low cost, with all proceeds going directly to the Stamford Spartans. Since 2011, Riko’s has shown its commitment to the community, and this day is another great example.

Spartans Tackle Football
From skill development to game-day competition, our football program teaches fundamentals, discipline, and teamwork while preparing athletes to succeed at the next level. Players build strength, confidence, and character both on and off the field.
Open to grades 4th - 8th.
Spartans Cheerleading
Our cheer program combines athleticism, spirit, and leadership.
Athletes learn cheer techniques, performance skills, and teamwork - all while playing an important role in creating energy, excitement, and pride for the entire Spartan community.
Open to Elementary & Middle School students

Honoring Justin’s Legacy Through the Game We Love
Recently, our program was fortunate to receive a generous donation from Kevin Kizolek and RJ Palermo, who help lead the Stamford-based Justin Nizolek Memorial Athletic Foundation. Due to their financial support, we were able to provide several need-based scholarships to our athletes, as well as purchase a much-needed lineman chute to enhance our practices. A quality investment that directly benefits our players.
Justin, whom this foundation honors, is remembered not only as a talented athlete, but more importantly, as an extraordinary person. His passing in early 2024 was a tremendous loss, but his spirit continues to inspire through the foundation’s mission, by means of supporting youth sports across our city.
To help carry this mission forward, we invite you - if you feel moved and able - to consider a donation of any size in Justin’s name. Every contribution helps ensure that his legacy of teamwork, dedication, and love of the game, will continue to impact young athletes for many years to come.
